Note the design floursh--a slight curve up at the wingtip. Unlike most commercial airliners, the 787 is built mostly of composite materials. That construction will help keep the weight down and contribute to reduced fuel use--Boeing claims a 20 percent reduction per passenger compared with other planes of similar size.
